3M™ PTFE Film Tape 5498 has a film backing with a non-silicone rubber adhesive. Withstands autoclave cycles for several hours at temperatures up to 350°F (177°C) and 400°F (204°C) exposure for shorter periods. Extruded PTFE film tape lies flatter than typical skived PTFE film tapes.
Applications: Lining of composite bonding tool frames where there is concern of silicone contamination; masking and bundling of composite parts prior to bonding operations where there is concern of silicone contamination
