CHR® SGK5-05 is manufactured from extra-strength, para-aramid (phenyleneterephthalamide) fiber cloth, impregnated with a dispersion of anti-static PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene). This high performance coated fabric then has a layer of high temperature silicone adhesive applied to one side. The black pigmentation provides anti-static performance and protection from UV damage, to which para-aramid fiber cloth is susceptible. Anti-static PTFE coated para-aramid cloth provides strength, flexibility, slip, chemical resistance and UV stabilization in harsh environments where protection against abrasion commonly wears out standard fiberglass harness wraps. Low coefficient of friction PTFE adds another dimension to harness wrapping by providing a measure of “lubricity.” Additionally, PTFE extends high temperature resistance to plain para-aramid (phenyleneterephthalamide) fiber cloth.
Applications: CHR® SGK5-05 is specifically designed to resist abrasion, and provide added strength in high temperature cable wrapping applications where standard fiberglass cloth do not provide adequate chemical resistance and/or low friction release.
