CHR H7525 is heavy-duty pressure-sensitive tapes used for thermal spray masking. They are manufactured by combining multiple layers of silicone rubber, aluminum foil, and fiberglass coated with aggressive high-temperature silicone adhesive. H7525 has exceptional abrasion resistance and adhesion properties, which allows the tapes to wear very well during the spraying process. These tapes are also very conformable and can be used for many part configurations. They can continuously withstand temperatures up to 500◦F.
Applications: H7525 are used as high-temperature masking tapes in thermal spray and high velocity oxygenated fuel (HVOF) process. The tapes are used to protect portions of the part being processed so that it is not exposed to spray. They are used primarily in the aircraft industry in their repair shops as well as in other markets where thermal spraying is used.
