3M™ Polyethylene Tape 480 has a transparent polyethylene backing with a long aging transparent acrylic adhesive. It can be used for splicing and repairing polyethylene sheeting. It is also recommended for sealing and protecting applications. Remains flexible to -20°F (-29°C). Prolonged exposure above 170°F (77°C) and hot caustics may cause softening of backing and weaken bond of adhesive to backing. Best results are attained when applied to a clean, dry surface at temperatures between 60° to 80°F (16° to 27°C).
Applications: Splicing and patching of polyethylene sheeting; excellent seal on smooth, compound, and irregular surfaces; good candidate for limited outdoor exposure applications (< 3 months) such as patching, repairing or protecting
