Scotch® Fine Line Tape 265 is a high-performance film backed tape designed for in-mold fine line masking where sharp, clean, gel-coat color separation lines are desired. Easy unwind and strong backing minimizes stretch during roll unwind. Polypropylene backing has superior gel coat chemical resistance compared to vinyl backings. Silicone-rubber adhesive has excellent adhesion to semi-permanent, high-slip mold releases compared to conventional rubber-resin adhesives. Polypropylene backing is conformable yet strong enough to pull sharply, evenly and consistently through gel coatings.
Applications: In-mold masking for gel coat color separation in: boat building: hulls, decks, and small parts; composites: showers, tubs, counter tops, vanities
