3M™ Polyester Tape 8401 is designed for splicing many release coated papers. Increased initial bond can be achieved by applying heat – approximately 250°F (121°C). Polyester film resists splice failure due to shrinkage or embrittlement. A blended silicone and rubber adhesive to provide a higher initial bond to release treated surfaces than silicone adhesives.
Applications: Butt splicing of release treated paper; temporary holding and masking while providing easy removal; applications requiring high temperature resistance
