Tesa 8444 Thermoplastic Heat Activated Film Tape
Tesa® 8444 is a copolyester based thermoplastic bonding film. This transparent double-sided tape has no backing. It is protected by a strong glassine liner. Tesa® 8444 is halogen-free and compliant with current RoHS standards. Tesa® 8444 is not tacky at room temperature, but is activated by heat while applying slight pressure. Tesa® 8444 enables strong and reliable bonds between different materials, e.g. PC, ABS, SUS, AL or PMMA. It features reliable bonds between plastic and metal surfaces, high push-out values, good shock performance in comparison to standard hot melt adhesives, and low activation temperature – below 150 °C jig temperature.
Applications: especially recommended for bonding of metal components to various plastic or metal surfaces, e.g. SUS or AL to PC, ABS or PMMA; bonding of metal design elements to plastic housings; constructive bonding; boning of logo to housing
