Saint-Gobain 2975-8R Glass-Silicone Tape
CHR 2975 is manufactured from silicone rubber/fiberglass cloth backing coated with high-temperature adhesive. 2975 tapes are designed to withstand both the punishing abrasion of grit blasting and the extreme temperatures/pressures associated with the plasma spray process. The adhesive is a high-temperature silicone, which allows the product to withstand continuous temperatures up to 500◦F and also prevents tape slippage after application. These tapes have excellent strength and flexibility, which allows for easy wrapping of complex shapes and minimized wrinkling during the flexing of cables.
Applications: 2975 is used in the plasma spray processs. These tapes protect these areas both from the grit blasting, and from the actual plasma spray coating. The aerospace industry is the prime market for the use of plasma spray tapes, specifically, jet engine manufacturers, overhaul centers, major airline maintenance centers, Air Force Bases, and Naval Air Rework Facilities.
