3M 483 Polyethylene Colored Tape
3M™ Polyethylene Tape 483 has a polyethylene backing with a rubber adhesive for many general purpose applications including sealing, color coding, protecting, moisture proofing. Black tape has excellent U.V. resistance and can be used outdoors for up to 12 months. Tape stretches easily and is highly conformable for a tight seal around irregular surfaces. Best results are attained when applied to a clean, dry surface at temperatures between 60° to 80°F (16° to 27°C). Vivid colors and smooth backing provide excellent glossy appearance.
Applications: General sealing of containers and irregular shaped objects; electroplating and P.C. board masking; silicone chip holding; decorative, safety marking and color coding; nuclear power plant construction and maintenance – (because of low chloride and halogen content); corrosion sensitive applications – (because of low chloride and halogen content); outdoor applications of sealing, protecting, and preserving (black colored tape only)
